It was an unusually cool evening in late September, I went for a short hike in the evening. I've done this hike before, but this was my first time seeing anything like this – enormous footprints imprinted in the soft soil, clearly distinguishable against the fading sunlight.

The tracks were pretty massive, unlike anything I'd seen before. Each impression revealed five distinct toes, and the spacing between them suggested a stride far beyond that of any known creature.

Though I never laid eyes on the elusive creature itself, the presence of those unmistakable tracks left a mark on my memory.
